The Faculty of Law, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, in association with Ambattur Taluk Legal Services Committee, successfully organised a One-Day Legal Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse
The programme aimed to educate and sensitize the student community on the legal, social, and health implications of drug abuse, while promoting awareness about preventive measures and legal remedies available under Indian law.
The event was graced by Mr. Aravindhan, IPS, as the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, who delivered a compelling and thought provoking address on the challenges posed by drug abuse in society. He highlighted the role of youth in combating this menace and emphasized the importance of legal awareness and proactive intervention.
Faculty members and students were facilitated engaging discussions on critical legal provisions under the NDPS Act, the psychological and societal consequences of substance abuse, and the role of law enforcement and rehabilitation.
The event was coordinated by Dr M.Amaraa – Associate professor and convened by Mrs S. Harinishree and Mr. N. Kishore Assistant Professors. This was under the able guidance and support of Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel – Director, Dr. R. Gomathy Sankari – Department Head, Dr. M. Amaraa – Deputy HOD, and Mrs. R. Shalini – Deputy HOD.
