The Faculty of Law has organised a seminar on the topic titled “Human Rights in the Digital Era” on 13th August 2025. The speaker of the session was Mr. A. Jeffry Andrew, Assistant Professor at the School of Excellence in Law (SOEL), The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
The speaker provided valuable insights into the evolving concept of human rights in the context of technological advancements. The speaker discussed the relevance of international instruments like the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the digital age. The lecture further highlighted the significance of the right to privacy in the online sphere and its interplay with laws such as the Information Technology Act, 2000. The session was enriched with real-world examples, making the discussion both practical and engaging for the students.
The event was organised by Mrs. R. Shalini, and convened by Mrs. S.Harinishree (Assistant professor), Mr. N.Kishore (Assistant professor), under the guidance, support, and encouragement of Director Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel, Dr. R.
