Special Lecture on Understanding Inflation and Its Economic Impact

The Faculty of Law, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, is pleased to have organized a Special Lecture on the topic “Understanding the Role of Inflation in the Economy and Everyday Life” on 27th March 2026 at the Phase II Campus.

The session was delivered by J. Alagiriswamy, Assistant Professor (Govt. Aided), Department of Economics, Loyola College. The speaker provided valuable insights into the concept of inflation and its significance in the economy. The lecture elaborated on the causes and types of inflation, including demand-pull and cost-push inflation, and explained how inflation affects the purchasing power of individuals in their everyday lives.

The session further highlighted the measures adopted by the government and central banks to control inflation and ensure economic stability, thereby offering students a deeper understanding of practical economic challenges and policy responses.

The event was organized by Mrs. J. Thenmozhi and Mrs. J. Jermy Sudhanthira, Assistant Professors, and convened by Mrs. S. Harinishree and Mrs. R. Jeevitha, Assistant Professors. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Director Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel and Dean Prof. Dr. N. Rajeshwari.
