The Faculty of Law, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme on Digital Security from 6th April 2026 to 13th April 2026 at the Phase II Campus through online mode, in collaboration with the Digital Security Association of India.

On 6th April 2026, the inaugural session of the FDP was delivered by V. Rajendran, Chairman of DiSAI, on the topic “Introduction to Cyber Crimes.” The session provided a comprehensive understanding of cybercrime, its growing impact on individuals and the economy, and the challenges posed in the digital era. The speaker elaborated on the causes and various types of cybercrimes, along with the corresponding punishments and preventive measures.

The lecture further highlighted the proactive steps taken by both the Central and State Governments to combat cybercrime and ensure digital security, emphasizing the importance of awareness, legal frameworks, and effective enforcement mechanisms in maintaining cyber stability.

The event was organized by Associate Professor Dr. M. Amaraa and convened by Mrs. S. Harinishree and Mrs. R. Jeevitha. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Director Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel and Dean Prof. Dr. N. Rajeshwari.
