The speaker discussed the evolving concepts and emerging practices in the field of mediation. The session highlighted the importance of mediation as an effective Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism and explained how it helps in reducing the burden on courts by promoting amicable settlement of disputes. The speaker further elaborated on recent developments, practical approaches, and the role of mediators in resolving civil, commercial, and family disputes efficiently. Real-time examples and practical insights shared during the lecture enhanced the understanding of students regarding the growing relevance of mediation in the legal field.
The event was organised by Mrs. N. UmaChitra. The programme convenors were Mrs. S. Harinishree and Mrs. R. Jeevitha. The Professional Society Event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel, Director; Dr. N. Rajeswari, Dean; and Dr. R. Gomathy Sankari, Head of the Department.
