Guest Lecture on Marine Pollution and Legal Governance

The Faculty of Law, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai, is pleased to have organized a guest lecture on “Marine Pollution: A Threat to Ocean Sustainability and Legal Governance” at the Phase II Campus.

The session was delivered by K. M. Anand, an eminent Maritime Law expert. He presented an insightful lecture highlighting the severe impact of marine pollution on the environment, marine life, and human health. The session explored various dimensions of marine pollution and the legal frameworks governing it, including key international conventions and national legislations. The speaker also emphasized the importance of strict enforcement of environmental laws and the need for increased awareness to prevent ecological degradation.

The event was organized by Ms. Azhahiya Meenaal, Assistant Professor, and convened by Mrs. S. Harinishree and Mrs. R. Jeevitha. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Director Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel and Dean Prof. Dr. N. Rajeshwari.
