Tha Faculty of Law organized a Subject Lecture on the topic “Family Law – Issues and Challenges” on 2nd August 2023 from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. The speaker of the session was Prof.Dr.P.B.Pankaja.
The speaker discussed that “what are the issues and challenges in family law in India” and “how to address the same”. She highlighted family law intersect criminal laws like IPC, Dowry Prohibition Act, Domestic violence Act, and JJ Act etc. The speaker discussed the secular laws on the family matters. As a expert in family law she discussed many landmark case laws in detail. She shared what are the Judicial approach and Judicial restraint in Uniform Civil Code, challenges to hetro sexual union, homo Sexual, and permanency of marriage. It was an eye opening session for students to understand the topic with practical examples.
The session was organized by Dr.R.Gomathy sankari with support of Mrs. R.Jeevitha event convenor. A subject lecture was conducted with guidance of Director, Special Officer and Dean and Faculty members.
